* Collaboration and Inquiry: Students have been discussing how we can meet our learning targets during our inquiry units.  They have created expectations that collaborative groups should follow in order to have productive and creative learning results.

Learning Targets:
* I can collaborate with other students to question, research, and learn.
* I can follow our collaboration rules.
* PBIS:  We reviewed school expectations for behaviors on the playground. Students wrote and drew about a personal goal they wanted to work on.
* Conferences are Wednesday October 23, 2013.  Notes about your scheduled conference went home, but please call if you have any questions or concerns.

* No school on Thursday October 24 - Friday October 25

* Thank you to all the families, teachers, and staff who helped to make our Scholastic Kids Are Author's celebration so special for us today. Our published book is ON SALE at the book fair during conferences.  Get your own copy of this wonderful student work!

Learning about Columbus Day

Our class worked on activating our background knowledge about Columbus Day.  We looked at many different resources to find some of the answers to our questions.  Also, we worked together to read a Reader's Theatre about the difficult voyage Columbus and his crew had to endure.
