April Newsletter

  • There will be a School Climate Survey in our upcoming newsletter.  Please separate it from the newsletter, complete it,  and send it back to school with your child - we value your input!

  • We will have a school-wide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, April 16th.  Please ask your student about the important safety procedures they learned about and practiced.  Our class wrote a short informative paragraph about tornado safety.

  • Our April DOJO Incentive will be Wednesday, April 16th.  Students with 80% Positive DOJO points for the month of April will get a 15 minute extra recess at the end of the school day.  Respect Self - Respect Others - Respect Environment.

  • We have many upcoming assessments.  Spring MAPS testing will be April 8-May 16th for grades K-5.  PALS testing (Grades K-2) will be April 28-May 23.  Smarter Balanced Field Tests will be May 12- 16th for GRADE 5 and May 19-22nd for GRADE 3.  We appreciate your help and support as we monitor student progress and transition towards the Common Core State Standards and the Smarter Balanced Assessment.  Please let me know if you have questions.

  • Reminder to parents...We have seen many students dangerously crossing the street in the middle of traffic.  Please park your vehicle and walk your child across the street, use the posted crosswalks, and/or drop them on the right side of the street.  Thanks for your cooperation in keeping our children safe.

  • Our next parent/teacher conference night will be May 12, 2014.  We will also have a Scholastic BOGO Book Fair during that time.

  • There is NO SCHOOL for students Thursday, April 17th - Friday, April 25th due to Spring Break.  We will see students back here on Monday, April 28th.
