October 19, 2012

* I am looking forward to meeting families during conferences next week.Confirmation notices with your scheduled time were sent home with students Oct. 16th. Please call if you have any questions or concerns.  My goal is to meet with 100% of my class families!

* Scholastic Book Fair will be held on Wednesday October 24 from 3:30 - 8:00.

* Longfellow Elementary Food Drive for the SALVATION ARMY - November 1-30.  The class that collects the most non- perishable food items will win a Toppers Pizza party!

* As quarter one comes to an end soon, we are hoping to earn a special FALL FESTIVAL party. A note regarding this special occasion was sent home Oct. 18th.

* We learned many interesting things about the planets and the rest of the solar system in the book, The Planets in Our Solar System  by Franklyn M. Branley.  Frank and Ruby worked hard together to do extra research about COMETS in the solar system.  We listened and used them as resources and recorded our new learning.

PBIS Assembly

We had our 2nd Longfellow PBIS all school assembly on Wednesday
October 17,2012 to recognize students and classes who respect self, respect others, and respect the enviroment.  Our class student of the week was Jaiden Barnes.  Congrats!
